Mabel, was initially written for a competition hosted by Soho House, IWC Schaffhausen Watches and the Toronto International Film Festival, the prize would have been the money to make the film plus support from seasoned experts. The Mabel script was a runner-up, and had received tremendous feedback which in turn spurred me to just make it myself. There was substantial fundraising to do as I was adamant that people not go unpaid on my project, aside from myself. Alexander Dreymon joined the cast to play Jack, and Emily Beecham was set to play Mabel. Like with any film there were major ups and downs, including losing crew and cast (namely our lead actress, which is what led to my playing Mabel. Filming took place over three days on location in Los Angeles, with a very international team as well as a tortoise!
